The j3 Guru Rank Index was created to inform users
as to which companies Gurus are investing in. The J3 guru rank index
is an index involving 20 institutions led by certain portfolio managers
who are well known and are some of the most revered investment professionals
in the world. George Soros and Warren Buffet are two examples. What
we've done is create a ranked index for companies that they own. Our
rankings are based on a point system ranging from 0 to infinity, the
more points, the more positive Gurus feel about a company. Not all
companies are ranked, only those that are least owned by one guru
investor can receive a ranking, after which several factors are included
to increase or decrease the company's rankings. Such factors that
increase the company's rank are position size, position increasing,
newly added positions and consensus holding by multiple Gurus. Points
are deducted for those companies in which Gurus decrease there holdings
or close out there positions.
